Punjab is rejoicing as a remarkable achievement has been recorded by Armaanpreet Singh, a cadet from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) in Mohali. He has secured the top rank in the all-India merit list for the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA). With aspirations to soar through the skies, Armaanpreet aims to join the Indian Air Force and fly the advanced Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet.
The recently announced results revealed that 641 candidates qualified for the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA’s 153rd course and the 115th Indian Naval Academy Course. Armaanpreet’s stellar performance earned him the first position, with Hardik Garg and Nikhil Raj coming in second and third, respectively.
The achievement was celebrated publicly, with Punjab’s Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Aman Arora, highlighting the significance of this success. Armaanpreet, the son of Satbir Singh, a dedicated physics lecturer from Gurdaspur’s Bhandal, has earned recognition not just for his academic excellence but also for his unwavering commitment to serving in the Indian Air Force. This marks the third time in 12 years that a cadet from MRSAFPI has attained the all-India first rank.
Additionally, a commendable number of 14 other cadets from MRSAFPI qualified for the merit list, showcasing the institute’s rigorous training and dedication. Among them, Keshav Singla stood out by securing the 15th rank. Currently, several cadets are completing medical examinations, eagerly awaiting their call-up letters for training.
Minister Arora extended heartfelt congratulations to Armaanpreet and his fellow cadets, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence on their paths to becoming future officers in the armed forces. Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, the Director of MRSAFPI, also expressed his pride in the achievements of the cadets, noting that this year has seen one of the highest numbers of selections from the institute for the NDA course.
Since its inception, MRSAFPI has successfully prepared a total of 238 cadets who have proceeded to join various service training academies, with an impressive 160 alumni having been commissioned as officers in the Indian defence services. Major General Chauhan also mentioned that the institute is anticipating the release of the technical entry merit list soon, which could lead to even more accolades for both the institute and the state of Punjab.
Armaanpreet Singh’s accomplishment not only brings pride to his family and his institution but also serves as an inspiration to aspiring cadets, reinforcing the importance of dedication, hard work, and service to the nation.
